About this place
Yantrodharaka Hanuman Temple is an active hilltop shrine above the Tungabhadra, close to Kodandarama Temple. The fifteenth-century sanctuary is associated with the Madhva philosopher Vyasaraja, who installed the unusual image of Hanuman seated in meditation within a hexagonal yantra. Stone steps climb from the riverside trail to the compact shrine and its long pillared approach.
